Resume |
My name is Erin, and I'm a software developer with a creative prowess, a knack for problem-solving, and an eye for design. I love working on cool things with cool people, and I always enjoy a challenge, whether that's architecting new web services or trying to solve a difficult anagram in pub trivia. When I'm not writing software, I'm probably messing around with hardware. I spend my time building and collecting mechanical keyboards, experimenting with IoT and home automation, and finding excuses to model and 3D print gadgets for around the house. Ask me about what I'm typing on, my dog Mayzie, or the current state of Longhorn football.
I joined Jackbox Games as a Full-Stack Software Engineer in mid-2023.
I was on the research team at runZero, helping to improve asset fingerprinting across the network discovery product. I handled data improvement submissions from customers, adding support for new device and software detection, as well as implementing new protocols. I also collaborated with the customer support team to answer technical questions from users and track bug reports and feature requests.
At Rapid7, I was a member of the offensive security engineering team, working on projects that benefitted the security community. I helped to prototype and launch AttackerKB, a community-driven vulnerability and threat intelligence platform. I also made several contributions to Metasploit Framework, primarily adding support for an enhanced data service and REST API. I was a regular contributor to the Rapid7 blog, authoring weekly wrap-up posts that highlight new features in Metasploit Framework. Finally, I was responsible for cloud infrastructure, deployment, and web development for the annual Metasploit community CTF, a security competition which typically sees over 1,000 active users.
As both an iOS and full-stack web developer at Jackrabbit Mobile, I had a unique opportunity to wear many hats while balancing as many as four different client-facing products at any given time. I worked closely on small, agile, engineering teams in order to bring ideas from concept to reality for everything from small startups to large public universities. I collaborated on frontend web projects in Angular, APIs and backend services in Python, AWS cloud infrastructure, and iOS apps built using Swift. I worked on too many projects to name individually, but my favorite by far was the iOS app for the Litter-Robot.
At Ihiji, a remote network management company, I had the opportunity to work on web development for the user-facing monitoring and management portal (Ihiji Invision), as well as adding support for third-party hardware integrations. I wrote new SNMP profiles for IOT devices, added new metrics and features to the Ihiji Invision dashboard, overhauled the customer email notification system to utilize a new API, and worked with the marketing team to make UI enhancements to the main website.
I have a bachelor's degree from the Plan II Honors Program, an interdisciplinary program offered by UT's College of Liberal Arts. For me, this meant that I had the opportunity to take classes in a wide variety of subjects, while specializing in areas that interested me the most. I completed a minor in computer science through UT's Elements of Computing Program, as well as a a certificate from the Bridging Disciplines Program in Digital Arts and Media. My liberal arts focus means I am well-versed in the humanities, although my passions lie with science and technology. At heart, I am a programmer who is pro-grammar.
